Role: Senior/Lead Data Engineer - Databricks

Experience: 5+ Years

Role Summary - Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL workflows
• Build and optimize data models for analytics, reporting, and downstream applications
• Work extensively with big data technologies including Spark and Databricks
• Write complex, high-performance SQL queries and optimize them for large datasets
• Ensure data quality, reliability, performance, and security across data platforms
• Collaborate with product, analytics, and engineering teams to translate requirements into data solutions
• Develop reusable frameworks and best practices for data engineering
• Perform code reviews and contribute to architecture and design discussions
• Troubleshoot data issues and drive root-cause analysis
• Support deployment, monitoring, and performance tuning of data systems

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer, Data Engineer, or similar role
• Deep expertise in big data technologies, especially Databricks and Apache Spark
• Very strong SQL skills with experience writing and optimizing complex queries
• Proven experience in data modeling (dimensional, relational, lakehouse, etc.)
• Strong hands-on experience building ETL/ELT pipelines
• Solid understanding of data warehousing and data lake architectures
• Experience working with large-scale, high-volume data environments

Good to Have

• Proficiency in Python for data processing and automation
• Experience with dbt (dBT) for transformations and analytics engineering
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Experience with workflow orchestration tools (Airflow, ADF, Prefect, etc.)
• Knowledge of data governance, security, and performance optimization techniques
