Job Title: SDET (Software Development Engineer in Test)

Experience: 4-7 Years

Job Type: Full-Time

 

Job Description:

As an SDET, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products through automated and manual testing. You will work closely with the development team to identify test cases, create and execute automated test scripts, and validate the functionality of various applications. Your expertise in Selenium, ETL processes, and scripting languages such as Python and JavaScript will be crucial to the success of our testing efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Test Automation:
    • Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Cypress for UI testing and API.
    • Integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline for continuous testing.
    • Write clean, reusable, and scalable code in Python/JavaScript to automate complex workflows.
  • ETL Testing:
    • Validate ETL processes to ensure accurate data extraction, transformation, and loading.
    • Design and execute test cases for data validation, data quality, and data integrity.
    • Collaborate with data engineers to troubleshoot ETL issues and improve performance.
  • Test Strategy & Planning:
    • Participate in test planning sessions and contribute to test strategy discussions.
    • Identify test requirements, design test cases, and create detailed test plans.
    • Analyze and interpret test results, providing actionable insights to the development team.
  • Collaboration:
    • Work closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
    • Participate in code reviews and provide feedback on testability and quality.

Required Skills:

  • Automation Testing: Proficiency in Cypress for API and UI Testing with a strong understanding of automation frameworks.
  • ETL Testing: Experience with ETL tools and processes, including data validation, transformation, and quality checks.
  • Programming Languages: Strong coding skills in Python and/or JavaScript.
  • Manual Testing: Ability to perform thorough manual testing and understand complex workflows.
  • CI/CD: Experience integrating test automation with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab).
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with other test automation tools like Cypress, Mocha.
  • Familiarity with databases (SQL/NoSQL) and experience in data-driven testing.
  • Knowledge of performance testing tools and techniques.
  • Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
